Our role commenced with the preparation of a schedule of condition for elements of both the gothic ruins and the Sir Basil Spence building, followed by necessary remedial works to the stonework and concrete.
Spalling concrete in the slender mullions of the Chapel of Christ the Servant was investigated and remedial measures specified.
Other ecclesiastical work includes Christchurch Priory where we employed finite element design to justify the flying buttresses in their deflected state, Bengeo Church chancel windows, and Woking United Reform Church repairs and extensions, as well as major works to St Peter’s Church in Wolvercote, Christchurch in Abingdon, Christchurch in St Albans, and Emmanuel Church.
