Works were part of a major refurbishment of the landmark, Foster designed building. The building was suffering flooding in heavy rain and the existing rainwater disposal system was calculated to be insufficient. The lead to the installation of new siphonic drainage system.
The unusual roof design also required a comprehensive survey to identify defects to the rooflight glazing and single ply membrane. The new high level pipework was transferred to existing drainage externally, so groundworks also formed part of the package.
Further works included the design of a new lorry rack and loading bays to the rear.
