A Chartered Structural Engineer, with strategic responsibilities for ethos and direction of the Company, and its style of operation. He was Chairman of the former Anthony Ward Partnership, and managed the merger with Andrews Kent and Stone in 2005, to form AKSWard.
Tony is passionate about good design,to achieve buildings that are ‘better by design’, and strives for the company to achieve this objective.
He is involved in a ‘hands on role’ on selected projects, which ensures that our experience is embedded in our services.
He mentors our young Graduates, and has much client contact.
Tony is a keen yachtsman, fly fisherman, and skier.
He is also a Liveryman with the Worshipful Company of Constructors, and is due to become Master Constructor in 2017.

A Chartered Civil Engineer and one of the Senior Founding directors of the Company. Roger was formerly a Director of Andrews, Kent & Stone. Prior to his consultancy career he worked for a major contractor on heavy civil engineering and geotechnical projects.
He is a main board director with particular responsibility for financial matters. He is involved with business development and remains closely interested in projects undertaken by the firm.
Roger recognises that the strength of the firm lies in its staff and their collective experience and he is keen to ensure that there is a route to enable current staff to become the future leaders of the Company.
His interest include travel, motoring and military history, with a particular interest in the technology of armoured vehicles. He is a Liveryman with the Worshipful Company of Constructors.
He is a registered volunteer for the local branch of Mind, the national mental health charity.

Gary Allen is a main board director of Corde and AKS Ward where he heads up the London office. He is a chartered civil engineer with some 30 years’ experience. He is regional structural head for London, the South East, and East Anglia.
Gary has particular strengths in education projects and has maintained an interest in structural surveys and defect investigations, a vast wealth of commercial experience as well as an expert witness. He is currently working on two new leisure centres and a number of London office refurbishments.

Craig is a main board director with particular responsibility for the Oxford office. He is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over 15 years experience in all building sectors.
Craig is a highly motivated Engineer with an expertise in producing cost effective and innovative solutions for a wide range of building types and budgets. Craig offers a hands on approach and enjoys maintaining an active involvement throughout the life of a project.
When not at work Craig would most like to be at home with his children or out on his bike, getting away from them.
A main board director with responsibility for the Southampton office, David is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over 30 years experience across a wide range of building sectors. He graduated from Sheffield University before emigrating to Zimbabwe and South Africa where he spent 5 years before returning to the UK.
Fortunate to work with a number of inspiring engineers early in his career David developed a keen interest in the marriage of structure and architecture, aiming to enthuse current and future generations of his Southampton team.
Always open to new ideas he now has a particular interest in the development of BIM across the Company, strongly promoting the development of AKSWard’s BIM standards as our industry adopts exciting new methods of collaborative working. .
Away from work David’s interests include Music (especially Bach and Jan Akkerman), Reading, Zulu and Ndebele History, and since first taking the wheel of an Alfasud, a passion for Alfa Romeo and all things Italian. He likes nothing more than B Road bashing in his Spider.
