AKSWard was appointed to revive the project by assessing what had been built and modelling the rest of the building. The site is in Blyth Road, not far from Hayes and Harlington station and consists of 120 flats, 97 of which are affordable.
The concrete frame for the three blocks was substantially completed and one of the blocks had windows and cement boarding installed. It was a challenging situation, with wide ranging uncertainties that needed to be overcome to allow the project to re-start. The structural and drainage remediation works of the building included strengthening the building and putting the correct drainage works in place.
AKSWard designed a remediation scheme that was both cost effective and would achieve the objective of the Blyth Road project.
