The Morgan Quarter consists of Grade II listed arcades – The Morgan and The Royal which form part of important and attractive group of buildings incorporating retail, commercial and residential space and located within Cardiff City centre.
The Morgan Family established a drapery business on the site in 1879. During the 19th and 20th Centuries the family expanded and developed the adjoining properties. The family business prospered for well over 100 years before finally being sold to Helical Plc in 2005.
Helical Plc have since engaged in an ambitious project to provide three large new retail units, 52 new residential units and above shops office space as well as refurbishment of the existing arcade units aimed at the high-end of the fashion market.
AKSWard have been involved from the onset, overseeing the stabilisation, repair, refurbishment, and conservation of buildings across the site, in addition to providing expert advice on the cleaning and treatment of stone facades and future use and adoption of the Victorian arcades.
In 2017 The Creative Quarter offices were awarded two BCO awards.
