AKSWard is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a keen interest in conservation, building alterations and structural defects. The successful candidate will be an experienced engineer (10 years plus) and ideally Chartered. The role will be based in London but can accommodate a high degree of flexibility including home working. The majority of our projects are in London and the South East, so an ability to travel and work independently will be required.
AKSWard has a strong portfolio of conservation, refurbishment and repair projects and the candidate will join our Specialist Services Group with other senior staff. You would report directly to our Head of Conservation.
Our projects range from small domestic surveys through the major refurbishments of signature buildings such as the Royal Albert Hall. Further details of our projects can be seen on our website.
The successful candidate will need the following skills and abilities:
• Work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proven Client management skills including the ability to secure repeat business.
• Good knowledge of building construction and defect analysis.
• Strong commercial awareness including the ability to write fee proposals and effective management and delivery of projects.
• Able to mentor and help develop junior staff.
