This entirely new school replaces existing schools which occupied the site, offering special educational needs to pupils aged four to nineteen.
To overcome the sloping site, the building has a split ground floor level with RC retaining walls to the internal courtyard.
RC flat slabs used throughout with exposed concrete columns in several communal spaces.
Given site constraints, part of the roof has been designed as an outdoor space for the pupils to use.
The main elevation has a double height steel canopy to offer solar shading.
