Graduate Training Conference 2019
We held our 2nd annual Graduate Training Conference at the headquarters of the Institution of Structural Engineers on the 4th of March. The day led by our Managing Director Gary Allen and Graduate Training group chair Colin Seabrook included presentations, workshops and networking opportunities.
The highlights included Lucy Walsh and Jess James from JAW Sustainability presenting on BREEAM, sustainability in structural design and life cycle of materials; James Burgoyne from Brunel Professions giving a talk on Professional Indemnity insurance and the claims process and a presentation on 3D modelling in Civil Engineering by our own Andrew Collins. Panos and Will Logothetis from our Southampton office shared their IStructE Chartership exam part 3 experience, providing the room with useful tips in their trademark style. Interactive workshops on ethics and commercial issues were led by Matt Walker and Clare Richards, supported by Colin Seabrook. Both workshops prompted lively debates.
A very successful and enjoyable day celebrating AKSWard commitment to our graduate training programme supporting our employees towards their Chartership goals.
